Hearty Beef Barley Stew

Ingredients (Where to Buy):


  • Heat the olive oil in large soup pot. Add the beef to the flour mixture and toss in the pot. Be sure to brown the meat on all sides (in batches is best). Next, remove it from the pot and set aside. Add onion and celery sauteing until soft, then add the mushrooms, carrots, and beef.
  • Go ahead and add 8 cups of liquid (water and beef brother) and spices, bringing it to a boil and then simmer for 45 minutes. Throw in the barley and potatoes along with the cornstarch and water mixture, simmer for 45 minutes. Lastly, add peas and cook until heated through.
