Nay Nay’s BBQ Shredded Pork Sandwiches

Nay Nay's // August 16th // African American Celebration

  • Pork butt 6to8 pounds bone in.
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoons seasoning sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 bottle of Your favorite BBQ sauce. 


Instructions for oven:
  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees . Are higher for Less cooking time
  2. Mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper,cumin, onion powder, salt and seasoning sauce in a bowl. sprinkle with brown sugar mixture, using the entire amount. . Place in baking dish and arrange pork roast on rack.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until very tender, 9 to 11 hours. Let pork cool, then shred into bite-size pieces. Stir barbeque sauce into pork to moisten; serve with 
  4. NayNays home made buns.
Instructions for grill:
  1. Roast pork in oven at 250 degrees, or higher for Less cooking time.
  2. Let cool overnight and shred into pieces.
  3. Mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, cumin, onion powder, salt and seasoning sauce in a bowl.
  4. Sprinkle pre-roasted pork with brown sugar mixture and place onto aluminum foil.
  5. Close foil and place on grill at low-medium heat to warm pork.
  6. Grill for 5-7 minutes.
  7. To moisten, add BBQ sauce to pork and let pork cool.
  8. Serve with NayNays home-made buns.
