The Winning Recipe for SMOKED BRISKET CHILI:

By Mick Hursh

2 lbs. smoked brisket (do ahead of time), coarsely chopped

3 links Portuguese Linguisa (casings removed)

2 yellow onions, diced

5 garlics cloves, minced

3 jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped

3 sweet peppers, seeded and finely chopped

24 oz can crushed tomatoes

1 jar chili sauce

1/2 can Rhinegeist Truth beer

1 Tbsp sugar

2 tsp salt

2 Tbsp cumin

2 Tbsp chili powder

2 Tbsp cocoa powder

1 Tbsp ground cinnamon

¼ c. Worcestershire sauce

2 16 oz. cans red kidney beans, undrained

2 16 oz cans spicy black beans, undrained

In a large pot, brown the Linguisa over med-high heat. When almost done, add diced onion, garlic, and peppers and sauté until peppers and onions are cooked. Add brisket, tomatoes, chili sauce, sugar, salt, cumin, chili powder, cocoa powder, Worcestershire sauce and cinnamon, bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Drink the remaining ½ can of beer. Simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add beans and their liquid. Cook on low heat for about 45 minutes.
