Learning ASL at Findlay Market

This must have been years ago, when my younger sister and I were pretty little. Our mom brought us to a bakery here that sold soft cookies with colorful icing and sprinkles on top. The baker was deaf and took the time to show us a few signs in ASL so that we could talk to him. I remember being so proud that I could say “thank you.” Whenever I say “thank you” now in ASL, I think of Findlay Market and the kind, patient man who took time from his day to help a 7-year old learn something new.
