Cheri Klink
Cheri Klink is a regular Findlay Market shopper and attendee to the special events. She was first introduced to the market about 20 years ago when a friend wanted to introduce her to a “great cultural hidden gem in Cincinnati.” She is always up for adventures and new cultural experiences, so she took her first trip to Findlay Market.
Cheri was reintroduced to the market several years ago by going on a food tour. She explains that after having a group take her around the market, it gave her more confidence and familiarity with her surroundings. She soon began traveling by street car to the market almost every weekend by herself.
Cheri is passionate about immersing herself in the world of arts and culture. She is a subscriber to the Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Pops, and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. After being a Findlay Market regular, Cheri tells us that has turned into a foodie also!
“I love the people and energy of the market,” says Cheri.
Cheri purchases tickets to almost every single Findlay Market special event - from our tasting events to our floral arranging class. She loves coming to the market to try new foods and meet the vendors.
“The market is always so festive - there’s always something going on,” says Cheri.
Cheri recalls a memory at the market that really ties into the community feeling that’s so apparent at the market. She tells us that there was an artist who would sit on the bench next to Mr. Redlegs with his chalk drawings. He began talking to Cheri and showed her one of his drawings.
“I wasn’t expecting them to be so magnificent,” she says.
Every time that artist would see Cheri after that initial encounter, he would always remember her and say hello to her.
“His friendliness truly stuck with me,” says Cheri with a smile.
Cheri’s advice for anyone wanting to visit the market but are feeling too timid or overwhelmed is to just start small. “Start by visiting one or two merchants. Introduce yourself and talk with the merchants and really step out of your comfort zone because the experience is worth it.”
