Yee Mama Grand Opening

Yee Mama is opening their very first retail location inside Findlay Market’s historic market house! Join us in celebrating their grand opening at their Market House stall on Friday, August 1 at 10:30 AM. We are so excited to see the growth of this company. Dora and her small team have been working out of a 100-square-foot pod kitchen at Findlay Kitchen for several years. They have been hand-folding all of their wontons in that space since the early days of their business. In their move to the Market House, they’re able to expand their production space and offer made-to-order wontons for the first time.

Run of Show

  • 10:30 AM: Remarks from Findlay Market Leadership

  • 10:35 AM: Remarks from Owner Dora Cheng

  • 10:40 AM: Ribbon Cutting & Champagne Toast

  • Special: $1 off frozen handmade dumplings and sauces!

“Opening a stall at Findlay Market is an incredibly exciting moment for us. Yee Mama began as a way for me to reconnect with the flavors I grew up with in Hong Kong and share them with my new home in Cincinnati. Nearly five years later, we’re opening a space where guests can watch us hand-make our wontons and enjoy dumplings cooked to order. In addition to our handmade wontons and small-batch sauces, we’ll have a small grocery section featuring thoughtfully curated Asian-founded brands and a rotating selection of grab-and-go meals inspired by the comforting flavors of my childhood.” —Dora Cheng, Founder

Patterns of Care: Honoring the Past, Building the Future Panel Discussion

What does it look like to practice care within a community? Making sure our neighbors and loved ones are well-fed, supporting budding entrepreneurs with a dream, and cultivating a dynamic, inclusive, and welcoming gathering place are just a few of the ways we take care of one another in the Findlay Market community. In our brand new three-part event series, Patterns of Care, we are shining a spotlight on the myriad ways we care for one another at Findlay Market.

Our second event in this three-part series is a panel discussion that explores the layered complexities of building a legacy. How can we honor the hard work of those who came before us while also forging a path into the future? What values do we hold dear that we want to pass along for generations to come? We are inviting four movers and shakers in the Findlay Market Community to answer these questions and more.

This panel will be moderated by Mary Stagaman. Mary is a Board Member for the Corporation for Findlay Market, and she played a huge role in the Market’s revitalization during the early aughts, pushing for the foundation of the Corporation for Findlay Market, the non-profit that oversees the Market. There will be light bites and a cash bar.

Panelists Include:

This event is entirely free of charge, but seats are limited. We kindly ask guests to reserve their seats ahead of time. We will be live-streaming this event on social media for those who cannot attend.

Take care.

Wendigo Tea Grand Opening

Wendigo Tea Grand Opening

We are excited to welcome Wendigo Tea Co. into the Findlay Market District as part of our Findlay Launch Storefront Accelerator Program! Wendigo Tea Co. has been around for years. They’ve been a Member of Findlay Kitchen and a loyal Outdoor Market Vendor on the weekends, and starting this summer, they’ll be running a storefront at 1811 Elm Street for the next year. Join us in celebrating their grand opening on Friday, July 18 at 10 AM!

"Wendigo Tea Co. just hit the 10-year milestone of supplying weird and rare teas to Cincinnati. The early years were honestly pretty lonely and tough—constantly running into unknown challenges. I started Wendigo after years of traveling the world playing piano in a rock and roll band, discovering wild teas along the way. So, jumping into the food business came with a huge learning curve.

The Findlay Learn program helped make Wendigo’s path more scalable and gave our business model some real structure. The team at Findlay Kitchen helped us develop safe, efficient bulk brewing processes—one of the main reasons we’re now able to serve brewed tea at hundreds of events every year. And Findlay Market has been key in introducing our teas to thousands of Cincinnati food lovers and curious tourists, growing the demand for our bizarre collection ever since.

Now, we’re opening the Wendigo Tea Bar at Findlay Market in the 1811 Elm St. Findlay Launch space to test a more approachable concept centered around the Wendigo brand. All of our classic teas will be available for retail, but the focus will be an ever-changing menu of craft iced teas, tea mocktails, and strange beverage experiences designed to challenge what you think of as tea."
