Carol Sampson

As a child, Carol Sampson used to accompany her uncle to Findlay Market to buy ingredients for his Sunday dinners. It wasn’t until 2015 that she began coming regularly to expand her knowledge on Findlay Market. As a certified Tourism Ambassador, she shares the best of Cincinnati with visitors to the Queen City, and she began volunteering for Findlay Market at the Visitors Center and as a tour guide.

In 2020, Carol had to take a break from volunteering due to a knee injury. Despite her injury, Carol was able to use this opportunity to research holistic and organic ways to begin her healing journey. Amidst her research, she discovered Earthganics and Cincinnati Hemp Company, two of her favorite shops at Findlay Market.

Carol enjoys Findlay Market for the diversity and opportunity to share her knowledge with visitors to tailor the experience to their needs. “I want to equip visitors with the tools they need to enhance their experience at Findlay Market and their life, as well,”  says Carol.

Carol recalls that one of her favorite volunteer experiences at Findlay Market was when she gave a tour for a family reunion and shared the African American experience in Over the Rhine.

Carol even created her own tour, “Cincinnati Bell Connector Fading Ads Tour,” which focuses on the ghosts signs on buildings that are over 100 years old. “There’s a story everytime you look at them,” says Carol.

Thank you, Carol, for sharing your incredible knowledge of the history of Cincinnati and Findlay Market!
